FUEL COST FORMULAS

km/L: litres = kilometres ÷ km per litre.

L/100km: litres = kilometres × L/100km ÷ 100.

UK MPG: litres = miles ÷ mpg × 4.54609.

Cost = litres used × price per litre.

WORKED EXAMPLE

For 120 km at 15 km/L:

Litres = 120 ÷ 15 = 8.00 L.

At 155 p/L, price is £1.55 per litre.

Cost = 8.00 × £1.55 = £12.40.
